PAYMENT FAQS

We no longer offer a shopping cart at this site - as it adds to the operational complexity and very few users actually used the service. Just email (preferred), telephone or fax us your order and we will respond promptly

Wire Transfer (This means "Direct Credit to our Bank Account")

This option is used by 90% of our users and is preferred. It generally is "free" for both you and us.

This means you make your payment into our bank account using internet banking or by paying the funds in at a branch of the ANZ.

Your other option is to simply mail us a cheque - please contact us for payment details and conditions. This is slower as obviously time is required for the cheque to clear.

Paypal

If you elect to pay via paypal - please contact us prior for the final freighted price and the correct email addess to use.

Paypal will automatically add 2.4% to the cost of your purchase

This can be a very cost effective solution for you if purchasing just a small accessory item ($100 purchase attracts a $2.40 surcharge).

For larger purchases (ie an Icom 756pro3 at $4399) the 2.4% fee becomes $106 which seem a little exorbitant (to us) - but  - if you are happy to pay the fee - we are happy to use the paypal service.

Bottomline is - Paypal is quite convenient for small purchases - but we would recommend bank transfer for larger purchases.

Credit Cards only accepted via Paypal

Please note that we do not presently except credit cards other than via the paypal service as described above.

WARRANTY FAQS

What is our policy regarding warranty?

All equipment sold at radios.net.au is brand new and genuine branded product. We do not sell repacks, refurbs or demo equipment at this site.

All equipment sold here comes with an automatic one year warranty. We can provide warranties out to 3 years at additional cost.

The warranty we provide is a Radio Exchange warranty and is backed by our affililiations with qualified and experienced local radio technicians.

Our warranty terms are industry standard (feel free to request a copy) - but we offer additional flexibilility - such as permission for you to perform basic mods without invalidating the warranty (general coverage TX / Fan Mod).

Should something go wrong with a purchased item outside of the warranty period - we can of course assist you in getting your item repaired at attractive rates.

We work with excellent radio techs in Melbourne and in NSW and we subsidise the service rate to ensure that no more than $75 per hour is applied to repairs on gear purchased through radios.net.au  Parts and freight costs (if applicable) are of course extra

Also remember, that if you plan to modify your radio in any way (ie general coverage transmit, fan mods etc) that this will void most manufacturers warranty. The general coverage TX and fan mods will not invalidate your radios.net.au warranty.

SHIPPING FAQS

What is your shipping and distribution policy??

All equipment dispatched by us is sent via Australia Post, registered and fully insured. We double box and professionally package all items.

Dispatch via COD is also possible, but we do require the payment of an upfront deposit (generally $50) to cover us for potential expenses incurred should the parcel not be collected at the addressee's post office. COD generally costs $9 more than a registered article but it does provide you with the security of receiving the goods at your local post office before paying out the full purchase price to us.

Calculation of Freight

Before complaining about the seemingly high cost of handling / freight, please bear in mind the following:

Registration costs $3 regardless of item value.

Packaging is expensive - an average size postpak box costs $3-4, a roll of bubble wrap (which does not go far) costs over $30 at OfficeWorks

Insurance is not added into the stamp that the post office affixes to your box (ie don't complain if you pay $30 for freight and your stamp on the box is only for $15 - this does not include the insurance component!!!).

We are happy for you to organise shipping on purchase amounts in excess of $3,500 if you believe you can do it more effectively. Remember - that couriers do not specify pick-up times - we have other core businesses to operate and cannot be waiting around for couriers to come and collect your goods.

If you believe that the freight scale outlined above has produced an unfair outcome - please feel free to email

Important Warranty Information (The Lawyers insist we advise you of this)

radios.net.au warranty conditions apply and will be provided with your purchase. New equipment is sold with a full 1 year parts and labour warranty. Used equipment  is sold with a full 1 month parts and labour warranty.

Please note that radios.net.au is not affiliated with any radio manufacturing company (Icom, Yaesu, Kenwood etc). As some gear sold here is acquired from offshore (or is "used") it is possible that the local divisions of these companies may not provide servicing support. These companies will certainly not repair under a manufacturers warranty. radios.net.au does however provide full servicing support for product sold here via its network of accredited service technicians
