The Icom IC-718 is an all mode HF transceiver with general coverage receive. The radio has an amber LCD display, has a front panel mounted speaker, and features automatic tuning steps, built-in CW keyer, direct keypad frequency entry, internal DSP module (this is an optional extra - refer below), IF shift, microphone compressor, built-in S-meter with SWR function, VOX, and more.

The radios is supplied with a hand microphone with up and down frequency controls, and a fused DC power cord.
